PERSPECTIVES · Editorial draft

Personalization should leave room for “no.”

A useful assistant needs to learn from correction, not just collect more context.

A suggestion is not a decision

Personal AI can connect a remembered goal with a possible next step. But a timely idea is still only an idea. The wearer knows circumstances the system may not see, and should be able to decline without having to justify the choice.

Confirmation makes a difference

Tombi’s intended experience asks for confirmation before turning a proposed reminder into a saved commitment. That moment gives the person a chance to correct the date, change the plan, or say that no reminder is needed.

Learning should reduce effort

The purpose of personalization is to make future assistance more relevant, not to create a larger record for its own sake. The development plan includes self-learning ranking; its real value will need to be demonstrated through everyday use and careful evaluation.

What we want to show

Future demonstrations should show corrections and refusals alongside successful suggestions. A product that respects a person’s direction should make those moments visible.
